GRAF is bornGRAF Skates AG was founded as Graf & Co. in 1921 by the grandfather of current owner Karl Graf. Graf and Co. was established in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland and produced a variety of sports shoes, including soccer, tennis, hiking and biking.
First GRAF Hockey BootIn 1938, the first GRAF hockey boot was produced with assembled blades.
Dedicated to Hockey & Figure SkatesIn 1975, GRAF began focusing its manufacturing solely on hockey and figure skates.
North American DistributionBeginning in the late 1980’s, European players begin bringing GRAF skates to North America while playing in the NHL, creating demand for the brand. In 1995, full distribution begins in North America.
GRAF CANADA is createdIn 1996 GRAF Canada secures a 9600 sq. Ft facility including office, manufacturing and warehouse in Calgary, Alberta. In 1997, the Canadian manufacturing facility commences production in Calgary with a daily running rate of 40 pairs of skates.
North American ManufacturingToday, GRAF Canada is an innovative designer, marketer, manufacturer and distributor of premium quality hockey and figure skate products. Our 36,000 sq. ft. facility resides in Calgary with a daily running rate in excess of 200 pairs a day.
Full Product LineAdded glove and stick categories to IIHF and NHL on-ice supplier agreement for the first time in company history to became IIHF and NHL on-ice supplier in skate, stick and glove categories to go along with a complete line of skates, sticks, gloves, bags, and accessories at the retail level.
Dennis WidemanIn May 2012, signed Dennis Wideman of the Calgary Flames to the first endorsement deal in GRAF company history.
David BoothSigned long-time GRAF supporter David Booth of the Vancouver Canucks to an endorsement deal in the winter of 2013.
Tessa BonhommeCanadian National Women’s team member Tessa Bonhomme is signed to an endorsement deal in the spring of 2013 to become the first woman to ever sign an endorsement deal with GRAF.
